Cambridge University College Rooms

Staying in a historic Cambridge college accommodation during the student vacations is a unique opportunity. With centrally-located bed and breakfast (B&B) rooms from £34, it is a cost effective alternative to staying in a hotel, and by providing the college with revenue you will be contributing to the upkeep of the famous buildings.

Queen's College University Rooms

Queens' accommodation ranges from single bedsits to shared sets (shared study/living room and separate bedrooms) in a variety of buildings dating from the fifteenth to twentieth centuries. The rents vary depending upon facilities available.

Most rooms have shared bathroom facilities but some in Cripps Building have private bathrooms. All Queens' main site accommodation apart from the Erasmus building is built on the traditional staircase design. There are lifts in Cripps Building enabling stair free access to most of its rooms.

As well as the accommodation on the main site, Queens' owns some shared houses, a large hostel and purpose built flats for couples within the city. The off-site accommodation is predominantly occupied by postgraduate students although some is available to third and fourth year undergraduates. There is only limited accommodation for couples and no accommodation for students with children although we do have a nursery for pre-school children.

Downing College, University Rooms

Downing College, dating from the early 1800s, has a unique setting amidst 20 acres of lawns and trees, yet is within half a mile of the historic centre of Cambridge. While the college itself is quiet and peaceful, a short walk brings you to the very heart of the city, making Downing an ideal location for visitors on a leisure break or in Cambridge on business.

All of the bedrooms we have available are ensuite and either overlook the Main Court lawns, West Lodge Gardens or the beautiful Maitland Library. The rooms are used by undergraduate students during term time but are fully equipped for the modern day traveller, with facilities such as a flat screen TV and a spacious desk with free broadband internet connection. A telephone, alarm clock, hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities are also provided, and rooms are cleaned daily by the College ‘bedders’.

Sidney Sussex College, University Rooms

Sidney Sussex College is pleased to offer clean, simple accommodation in the unique historic University surroundings of a traditional college in the heart of Cambridge.

Bedrooms can be chosen within the grounds of the College in either Blundell Court, Garden Court, or Cloister Court. We also have bedrooms located outside of the College just 300 yards out of the main gate in Cromwell Court.
Each bedroom will have a wash hand basin and you will be provided with towels and soap. Bathrooms are shared between 4-5 bedrooms unless you are in ensuite rooms. All rooms have tea and coffee-making facilities. Rooms are serviced daily by the Housekeeping staff.

Sidney Sussex was founded in 1596 Sidney Sussex is a very well-kept secret - whether it is Elizabethan brickwork, charming Cloister Court, the haunting Chapel, exquisite Rococo Hall, medieval cellars or beautiful ancient gardens - they all lie behind a rather self-effacing wall of Roman cement. Sidney's history is an even better-kept secret including the precise point at which Oliver Cromwell's head is buried.

Churchill College, University Rooms

Churchill College is Set in 42 acres of open parkland in the north west corner of the city, Churchill College's location is a ten minute walk (or a short bus ride) from the historic city centre. Parking, which is at a premium in this city, is free and plentiful at our college. Accommodation is offered in contemporary courtyards that surround the main building and the heart of the college campus. Whilst not old like some other colleges, the light, generously proportioned rooms fulfill the needs of the modern traveller, including a spacious desk and free broadband internet access (WiFi in public areas and ethernet point in bedrooms) with a hospitality tray and toiletries.

Founded in 1958, Churchill College was one of the first of the 'modern era' of Cambridge Colleges. It is also the only Cambridge College specifically established to pursue excellence in the teaching and research of science, engineering and technology. Nobel Prize winners Francis Crick, discoverer of the structure of DNA, and Anthony Hewish, the discoverer of the pulsar, were amongst its founding Fellows.
